The Honeymoon! Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

From August 11-18th, 2007, Mauricio and I went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for our honeymoon. We had no idea how necessary it was going to be to go away and relax after so many months of planning for our wedding! We enjoyed not having to be anywhere at any certain time and just relaxing together. Some of our highlights of the week included parasailing, snorkeling, a dinner cruise and tango show, and riding ATVs in the desert! It was hard to come home...

Our Wedding

Our special day was Saturday, August 4th, 2007, and it was the most memorable day of our lives! Our wedding ceremony was held at Colonial Church in Edina, Minnesota and the reception afterwards was at the Calhoun Beach Club in Minneapolis. Everything came together perfectly and we enjoyed every minute of our wedding!

Our Rehearsal Dinner

On Friday night before our wedding, we enjoyed a delicious meal from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, prepared by Mauricio's family and friends who were visiting from Bolivia. A special surprise during the evening was a typical dance put on by Mauricio's nieces and the children of our friend Deborah from Santa Cruz. The night was beautiful for eating outdoors and our families and wedding party members enjoyed getting to know each other better while sharing a wonderful meal.

Geography

I know that many people think I'm Colombian, but actually I'm from Santa Cruz, Bolivia. I guess that the fact that Heather was teaching in Bucaramanga, Colombia led to this misunderstanding. (The two first pictures are Bolivia, which is the country in the heart of South America and the third picture shows Colombia.

I'm glad we decided to have our wedding at Colonial Church during summer. It looks beautiful and green compared to last year in December when we came and everything was covered with snow!

Stout's Island, Wisconsin

We spent our first weekend back to Minnesota, taking a trip to Ralph and Wendy's condo by Red Cedar Lake near Birchwood, WI. There, we also had the chance to go back to Stout's Island to have dinner and remember good times when we were there for Heidi and Todd's wedding last year.
